Our Story
NHMi was born from lived experience
NHMi was not created to add more information to the internet. It was created because its
founders lived the difficulty of rebuilding a healthcare career in an unfamiliar system while being qualified,
experienced and ambitious.
Cliford Oburu Oluoch, Co-Founder
Cliford, a Kenyan-trained Clinical Officer and digital health specialist, arrived in the UK in 2023. At the
time, no UK regulator recognised his Clinical Medicine and Surgery training, so establishing himself was a
tall order. He began as a Clinical Support Worker, volunteering within an NHS Foundation Trust to gain a
foothold, and worked in other industries to support his family while he found his footing.
His hope was renewed when the Leng Review recognised clinical medicine training and set out a structured
route into Physician Associate roles in the UK, and he began his own registration journey.
Many internationally trained healthcare
professionals do not lack qualifications.
They lack a clear, structured pathway for turning those qualifications into professional opportunity.
That insight became the foundation for NHMi.
Two Journeys. One Purpose.
Bringing clinical experience and workforce expertise together
Kibwana Awinyo, Co-Founder
Kibwana brought a complementary perspective shaped by her own move to the UK and years of experience across
human resources, international recruitment, healthcare workforce integration and pastoral support.
For more than five years, Kibwana has supported internationally recruited healthcare professionals through the
stages that matter most, including interviews, onboarding, relocation, settlement, workforce integration and
career progression.
When Cliford's lived experience met Kibwana's workforce and integration expertise, NHMi
took shape around one principle: the pathway should be clear.
Why NHMi Exists
Because information alone is not enough
The internet offers more information than ever about UK healthcare careers. Yet
professionals are still left asking the same questions. Am I eligible? Which regulator applies to my profession?
Which pathway is right for me? What documents do I need? Which examination should I prepare for? Am I ready to
apply? What happens after registration? How do I prepare for the move?
At NHMi, we bring these questions together into a structured, personalised pathway.
What Makes NHMi Different
We understand the pathway from within
NHMi is built on lived experience and professional expertise. Our founders bring
complementary experience across clinical practice, NHS environments, digital health, healthcare workforce
integration, international recruitment, human resources and pastoral support.
We do not treat international healthcare mobility as a one-size-fits-all process. We start
with you — your profession, qualifications, experience and goals — and help you understand the pathway that fits
your position. We do not sell guarantees. We provide structured guidance, realistic expectations and informed
support.
Clarity before commitment.
